Not so long ago, I was sitting at my desk, surrounded by stacks of paperwork, staring at a spreadsheet on my monitor, when the familiar ding of my cellphone caught my attention. A colleague had sent a photo, showing her soaking up the rays in the sunny Mexican Riviera. Suddenly the gray cubicle walls and buzzing fluorescent lights seemed all the more boring and lifeless.
Doldrums
noun plural dol·drums \ˈdōl-drəmz, ˈdäl-, ˈdȯl-\
: a state or period of sadness or depression
: a state or period in which there is no activity or improvement
We’ve all been there at one time or another, stuck in the day-to-day routine. Life becomes a seemingly endless merry-go-round of home and work responsibilities. You find yourself driving the same roads, seeing the same sights, shopping in the same stores. Nothing seems fresh, exciting or vibrant.
It’s time to break out of the doldrums and discover a new, exciting world that’s awaiting you.
Adventure
noun ad·ven·ture \əd-ˈven-chər\
: an exciting or remarkable experience
I firmly believe that adventure is not something that happens to the lucky few. You don’t need to travel to the ends of the earth or spend a small fortune to make it happen. New experiences and unique opportunities wait for all of us. We just need to step out in search of them.
Red Wolf Adventures was launched to help inspire others to discover the wonders that are within reach. Whether it’s a weekend wandering or a foreign journey, a culinary excursion or a literary expedition, I want to show you how to drink deeply of the experiences different places and cultures have to offer. I believe that travel infuses color and vibrancy into our lives and opens our eyes to the beauty that’s all around us. And I want that for you, dear reader.
So join me on this amazing adventure, exploring the world one trip at a time.
